Research & Applications Working Group

Goals
The primary goal of the working group is to train a new generation of scientists on the use of super-networks. The following work items have been identified:
- User applications [Maxine Brown (UIC) and Larry Smarr (UCSD)]: generate more users and develop a taxonomy to define classifications of LambdaGrid applications.
- Infrastructure [Jason Leigh (UIC)]: interconnect GLIF sites with HD videoconferencing, tiled displays etc..
- Research [Cees de Laat (UvA)]: advocate funding agency roadmaps and research programmes, and industry hardware/software development.
