Measurements and reporting in the hybrid network

Dear GLIF Tech:

Network operators, already for a long time, know how to measure and how
to report in a IP routed network. Many tools are available for this and
every now and then new tools are created. Now that our networks are
becoming hybrid, in which we deliver lightpath services next to routed
IP services, questions on how to do measurements and reporting surface.

SURFnet has created a draft document describing the problem space of
measurements in the hybrid network, that I attached to this message. I
would like to put this on the agenda of the Tech for Minneapolis, as a
starting point in the discussion on measurements.
